Red Star vs. Cross and Cresent

Spengler of the Asia Times pens an interesting column on the growth of Christianity and Islam in China. He predicts an interesting scenario for the end of Chinese Communist party and speculates on the affect the creation of a new Christian nation in Asia could have on the world.

The figures he quotes are a surprise (possible 200 million Christian), as in the 19th and 20th centuries China was one of the least productive areas for Christina missionaries. It would be a delicious twist of fate if indeed the communist party was undone by its own program to eliminate the traditional faiths of China--hosted by their own petard as it were.

Interesting. Perhaps the future of Christianity will be in Africa and China as it once was in the Middle East and Europe. Maoism was the result of another western import that later found itself replicated back in the west.
